Hi Eric
There is one set of drawings in my library that has a very odd effect. It's a fairly old drawing of hex. nuts. When I put it into a drawing some of the parts of the nuts become grouped with dimensions drawn with the Measuring tool or sometimes polygons!
See https://whisstock.com/odd_library.mov
It only happens with some bits of the nuts drawing – nearly always an arc and sometimes a polygon and circle. I don't have this problem with any other library object as far as I know.
I can easily re-draw the nuts but I'm curious as to why this happens?? Before I discovered it, I was losing parts of drawings when I deleted unwanted parts of the nuts drawing!
Cheers -- George

Re: Odd library effect
Bonjour George,
Thank you to report this.
I think that it is a problem with group numbers.
I will check.
Cordialement.

Re: Odd library effect
George,
I can't reproduce the problem.
If your library file is very old, it is probably because the group numbering was different.
Can you send me this file, please?
Perhaps, you can solve the problem by opening this library file as a drawing and save it as a new drawing to update the group numbers.
Cordialement.

Re: Odd library effect
Hi Eric
Thanks for the quick reply
I'll try as you say and re-save it. But it really needs re-drawing anyway as it could be a lot better drawn.
I've sent it to you anyway!
Cheers -- George

Re: Odd library effect
George,
It was a bug which occurs when there is groups both in the drawing and in the library file.
I have fix it.
Do you want immediately a new beta?
Thanks.

Re: Odd library effect
Hi Eric
Oh - right - that makes sense of it. I probably don't have groups in most of my other library drawings, or at least not a lot of nested groups. And I tend to use the hex nuts library element quite a lot. And I use the measurement tool for nearly all my dimensioning, so there are often lots of groups in the drawings. And the logo in my title box is a group, which explains why that gets "attacked" quite often as well!
No hurry for a new beta - whenever it's convenient with you is fine by me.
Many thanks

Re: Odd library effect
Bonjour George,
A new beta is available.
I restarted from b1 because it is a true beta with big changes in the dotted lines...
See : Edit -> Dashes
But I don't have made many tests.
This beta is an UB (universal binary) for Mac intel and Mac M1.
Thanks.

Re: Odd library effect
All good so far!
And Scripts also seem to be working just fine.
You can make really quite complicated dashed lines
I have wondered if it would be useful to be able optionally attach names to the dashed lines. For example I have four 'standard' lines that I use all the time, which I would call:
Drawing
Centre
Witness
Hidden
May just be too cumbersome though ....

Hi Eric
Yes - exactly so – but you would be able to put in your own preferred short (say max 10 characters) names?
