Hi Eric OK – here's what I've found – how am I doing? :D –– Rotating Arcs problem (via iPocket Draw): Fixed –– Align problem (doesn't always work to start with): Fixed –– Poor rendering of arcs etc when saving to PDF: Fixed (I think??) -- Nudge separated from Snap grid: Excellent, big improvement, t...

Re: And another question ....

Hi Eric I use the Print function and then select PDF >> Save as PDF. I have also used PDF >> Save as Adobe PDF, which gives you a variety of further quality options – none of which seem to produce any real difference in their result. Something odd seems to have happened to this option with Catalina ...

And another question ....

Circles and arcs look really smooth and good on RealCADD. And they print really nicely. But when I save a drawing to PDF (which is the format I use to distribute them to builders etc.) both are blocky and heavier than on RealCADD. Lines, even curved looking lines (poly-curves) look reasonable - just...

Align woes

Hi Eric Whatever I do I cannot make the keyboard shortcuts for Align >> Left/Right/Top/Bottom work reliably. I have tried changing the shortcuts (in System Preferences) from the standard ⌘→ etc to something else – like ⌃L, ⌃R etc. but to no avail. It often just doesn't work. When that happens, with ...

Re: Duplicate and mirror

I don't know Mike - it is a lot quicker than select, copy, paste, group, mirror, align. You don't even have to group the components, just select them, hit ⌘D, select Symmetry with axis, then select the end points of the axis you want, and it's done! The only extra move to an automatic duplicate is h...

Re: Catalina

Thanks Eric. I guess I'll upgrade to Catalina! And thanks for the DXF converter link – that looks like it will do the job OK. I have to do a lot of converting from early versions of DXF to more modern versions as my naval architecture program (MacSurf) is very old and exports to a DXF version that R...

Catalina

Hi Eric

Will RealCADD be ok with OS Catalina, which only runs 64bit apps?

Are you still intending a Version 5 at some point :D ?

Sadly - if I upgrade to Catalina I assume I will have to abandon DWG-DXF Converter 1.40, which has served me faithfully for years now.

Rotating dimension text

Hi Eric Happy Easter!! With the measuring tool, I wonder if it is possible have an option with the 'Rotate text' facility to rotate the text to be either parallel to the dimension line (the current default) or at 90º to the dimension line. In the image below, the text in dimensions on the right are ...
