Re: RealCADD 5.40

Hi Mike! Nice to hear from you. I built a Murphy bed recently in our apartment here and I spent a lot of time looking on your site. Because you use them I also used Create a Bed metalwork etc., and it indeed indeed excellent. My floor was 2" out of level in the length of the bed (I built a hori...

RealCADD and ClarisCad

Probably not much call for this!! But if you can save a legacy Claris drawing to PDF (by using Apple Print function) you can then convert it to a fully functional RealCADD drawing by using the PDF >> Extract from a PDF ... function. All that I've tried have been remarkably accurate. I have many hund...

Re: RealCADD 5.40

Hi Eric Great - downloaded just fine now! I have two PDF's that RealCADD can't extract – both are scans of a document. I've tried opening them in Preview and then exporting them again as a PDF (this works when Adobe won't print properly, which seems to be quite common!), but that didn't make any dif...

Re: RealCADD 5.40

Hi Eric

I've just realized that I only have v. 5.32b9 – The zip file for v. 5.40 on the download page seems to actually open as v 5.31??

Re: RealCADD 5.40

Mostly it works very well. I'm amazed how much I use both Annotation and Extraction – often in things far removed from designing or drawing. It's made dealing with many official forms and all sorts of PDF documents used in bookkeeping or record keeping so much better and easier to deal with. Getting...

Re: RealCADD5.32b5-b6-b7-b8

Hi Eric

Yes it's noticeably much faster now – possibly faster than 5.31 in fact!

Many thanks -- George

Re: RealCADD5.32b5-b6-b7

Hi Eric I've used it several times on PDF's and it has been great. But I think ordinary RealCADD files are a little bit slower – is that possible? Or is it just my imagination?? I was working on a file with several layers, all visible, and I got the dreaded "rainbow wheel" a lot as I was m...

Re: RealCADD5.32b5

Hi Eric

The only oddity that I've found so far is what it does with radii. Mind you dxf does odd things with radii too1

Re: RealCADD5.32b5

Hi Eric

It's really impressive so far in respect of what it does with PDF's – both text and drawings. So much better than any so-called PDF editing programs that I've tried in the past.

Re: RealCADD5.32b5

Hi Eric

I'm currently on Ventura 13.6.6 And it badly wants to update to Sonoma 14.4.1!

New version is looking good now!

Cheers -- George
