Re: Rescaling

Mike – All my drawings, when printed out, have to be to scale (I mean a scale that is on a scale rule) and that is true of pretty much all engineering, constructional and architectural etc. drawings. So starting with a scale in mind is not so much of a hardship – in fact it seems normal to me. You c...

Re: Windowshades

Oh! I didn't read your post properly – I though you wanted the Print window to stay open – but on re-reading I see it is the Edit menu. So I'm glad to have been of help :D

Re: Windowshades

I don't think there is. Tools windows can be made to stay fully open at RealCADD >> Preferences >> General and uncheck Auto-retractable, but the print window has to be Cancelled or Ok'd in order to continue doing anything. I know it's difficult – I tried TurboCAD for Mac (when I finally had to chang...

Re: Rescaling

I suppose I'm going to poke my nose into this discussion – hard to resist! As Eric said, traditionally, Mac CAD programs are organised so that you set the scale of your drawing to suit the size of paper that you intend to use. This is exactly what you do on a drafting board with pen-&-ink and pa...

Re: Zoom in, zoom out

No worries Mike! No worries at all. I know plenty about sweaty days in the workshop or out on a job. Life isn't all about outsourcing to China or whatever – it still can be about simple honest hard work here at home in the USA! You don't so often find the combination nowadays, that you and I seem to...

Re: ⌘M

Mike:

You don't even need to enter a "0" – just enter the distance you want to move it, dx or dy or both and hit OK

Re: Zoom in, zoom out

Hi Mike: Didn't mean to teach my grandmother how to suck eggs! Maybe that is a Englishism?? I've never really used the Esc key for anything – only Force Quit, a forced restart, and similar last resort stuff. Bit like the Ctr-Alt–Delete in Windows. None of the programs I have had, really used it at a...

Re: Zoom in, zoom out

By the way Mike, you can create all sorts of shortcuts using System Preferences >> Keyboard >> Shortcuts >> App Shortcuts E.G. I have: Action->Align->Left set to ⌥L Action->Align->Right set to ⌥R I think that for menu items that have a screen icon like "Zoom in" you can just enter the exac...

Re: Copy and Paste

Hi Eric

OK – that's why I can copy and paste much more between older programs on my old mac, running Classic. What a pain – it was very convenient even though PICT had some limitations. Useful features always seem to get upgraded out ...

Never mind – and thank you for checking it out.

Re: Zoom in, zoom out

Mike: Go to System Preferences >> Keyboard >> Shortcuts >> App Shortcuts and create a shortcut for RealCADD so that Zoom is ⌘= See screen shot below: Screen Shot 2014-08-28 at 01.03.45.png Then it works without the use of the shift key. I didn't really understand the post about the ESC key ... George
