Re: Maintain line thickness

I wish I had an iPad – I did download iPD on the iPhone but really that's too small for serious work. Though I guess with a stylus you can do on-site sketches and notes. And if I was still doing survey work and so on I think I would find it useful. I use an 11' MacBook Air – which is not dissimilar ...

Re: Maintain line thickness

Mike If you set your general drawing line thickness to 0.01 pixels (Edit >> Line's thickness >> Menu 1 = 0.01), it will stay constant (or appear to do so) up to at least 3200 magnification – and I think up to 128000 magnification. After that it starts to thicken. That might depend a bit on your scre...

Re: Thank you!

That's very nice of you to say so Mike. And I'm really glad that it's working for you. Always happy to help. I just can't seem to master track-pad and screen drawing very well – I guess my fingers just aren't right somehow! So I still sit at a desk with a mouse – or sometimes out in the garden at th...

Re: dashed lines?

What I often do Mike is to set up my page size and everything when I start. Then either in the Drawing Size window that pops up, or in Edit >> Drawing Size, I set the width of the drawing to *1.25. Then I position the various tools in the top right hand corner of the screen. My personal preference i...

Re: dashed lines?

Hi Mike! Edit >> Dashes is to set the specific dashed pattern that you want. You may find that you need to do this at some point if the pre-installed dashes are not what you want. Depends a bit on the scale of the drawing. Window >> Attributs is where you select which dashes you would like your line...

Re: Parallel

To be fair I do use multiple parallels – for witness lines for example – 20 lines at 200mm from an original. I think the problem we all have is not so much how we select parallels – the existing tool is very flexible in that respect – with a commensurate slight loss of operating speed if you only wa...

Re: Dimension Font

Me again Mike! Go to Preferences – Display. Set the font and size there. Then on the drawing select the text tool and in the floating text window, check that the font and size are the same – if not, set them to be so. Type a bit of text. Save the drawing, quit RealCADD, reboot RealCADD and open the ...

Re: Double lines?

Hi Mike You select the parallel tool, holding down the option key. Set Parallel in/left to the dimension you want (say 1"). Leave Parallel out/right completely blank Select the Line tool Hold down the Option key and then draw your line. You will get a double line the specified distance apart. W...

Re: Printing

A pleasure Mike. Like you I had a much-beloved CAD program – in my case ClarisCad – that I used for about 20 years or more, and which I had to give up because it would no longer run on new intel Macs. Even after all that time I would still discover (usually by mistake!) a feature that I didn't know ...
