Mike, I think that to do this the best will ne to use the command "Move points" Because if you select the 2 objects and take one by one of its black handles this object will be resized but the other will only moved. And if you take one of the blue handles, all dimensions will be resized in...

Yes Mike, it is possible but not in one time. You can do this with the tool "extend and cut lines". Look the options of this tool. First time, select only extend + cut. Use the tool from the vertical line to one of the horizontals. Now you have 2 vertical lines but one is too long. Second ...
