This is not a new feature.
The displacement with the up-down-left-right arrow is possible for a long time.
The value of the displacement is the value of the grid of attraction.
So perhaps that your value was zero or very small.

Thank you Mike ! The point 2) is easy to do and will be in the next version. For the point 3), I think to add an option to have the choice between y+ down or y+ up. Sorry for the delay, Steve.

The videos are made on the simulator on my Mac. So I use the mouse which is more accurate than the fingers.

Yes it is possible.
Select objects that you want rotate and in the menu "Command" choose "Rotate".
