Bèzier options

Post by Angelos »

The Bezier curves working different as usual, for example Illustrator or Designer.
I'd like understanding better how they work in IPocket Draw .

Bonjour Angelos,

I never had to use the Bézier curves in my work as civil engineer.
And each time I tried this tool in other software, I found that it was not easy.
So I don't do the same way in iPocket Draw (and RealCADD).
The first step is to draw each points that the curve pass through (as a polyline or a spline).
The control points are automatically calculated to show that it is a Bézier curve.
And after you can move the control points or change the datas of the curve.

Cordialement.

Thank you.
Some example.
1) how to change from curve node to angle node?
2) how to make indipendente the two handles
3) how to constrain the movement of the two handles
4) how to pair the length of the two handles
?

I don't understand what you mean.

If you mean with a different angle, it is not possible.
You have to do 2 curves.

The only way is to modify manually the datas in the object attributes pallet.

It is the first version of iPocket Draw (and RealCADD) with Bézier curves.
So there is probably some improvements to do...

1) the little squares in a Bèzier curve is a "node". Each node can have different styles: only angle (without handles), partial angle ( with only one handle), curve (with two handles moving together), indipendent curve (with two handles but each one moving indipendently)

There is only partial angle node for the first and last point and (partial) independent node (same angle but different length) for others.

I find out some new options in your app.
You can convert a node with two handles into an angle node without handles.
And you can convert a node with two handles in a node with a single handle.

If you want to look at them, tell me how can I send you a short video.

Yes if you set the lengths to zero, I think.
