I created a drawing in iPocket draw and when I print it out it is way too SMALl. How do I enlarge my drawing so it will fit nicely on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper? Advanced users please don't slam me!

Bonjour Kylew,

It is easy :
- in menu Action, do "Select all";
- again in menu Action, do "Scale";
- enter for example 2 and 2, validate;
- all objects are now 2 times bigger;
- their dimensions have changed, if an object was 2 meters long, it is now 4 meters;
- if you want to have it again at 2 meters;
- change the scale of the layer(s);
- if you have only one layer, you can do this in "Preferences";
- divide the scale of the layer by the same number, 2 in this example;
- therefore, if the scale of the layer was 1/10, modify it to 1/5;
- now your drawing is 2 times bigger AND the objects have their original dimensions;
- if you have more than one layer, divide each scale of layers on screen "Layers";

Say to me if it is OK for you.

This does not work in my case. Eric can I send you my drawing so maybe you can figure out why I cannot get it to enlarge, per the scaling feature? I would be most obliged to you since I really like this program! Kyle

I have received your drawing, Kylew.
I think that you choose "scale on one page" when you try to print.
And your drawing has some "ghost" objects.
To see them do this :
- tap 4 times to do a zoom all;
- you see that your drawing is smaller than the screen;
- do Action -> Select all;
- you can see all objects, the right and wrong;
- delete the wrongs;
- verify with a zoom all command (4x taps);
- print again;

Say to me if that solves your problem.

Eric,

Sorry to be such a pain in the ass. Nothing works. When I try to scale an object my drawing goes away. I cannot select the "ghost objects" you mentioned in order to delete them. .? Now I cannot email myself a jpeg of the drawing for printing...when I try that drawing does not show up in my email to myself. I am using an Ipad 2 with a Hewlett Packard printer, and print using a HP app that usually works. You have to open the HP app, find the drawing ...select it and print.

Best regards,

Kyle :roll:

Ok I figured out how to eliminate the Ghost objects, that works ok now. I still cannot figure out how to successfully scale my drawing and also I cannot export the drawing to jpeg, PDF for printing. Surely I am doing something wrong. Thanks for your help and continued support..

Bonjour Kyle,

I don't have analysed your drawing before but now I did and there is some other problems.
I think that when you tried to print your drawing, you have done some scale commands.
And now your drawing is so much big...
You have texts with size of 1150156800 pixels !!?
I am amazing that there is no crash and that iPocket Draw can display it !
On your drawing without ghost objects, do that :
- select all;
- call "Scale" and enter .00000005 (7x 0 !) for Scale x and y;
- Objects are always selected, so Cut them;
- reset the zoom and dx, dy with a 3x taps;
- Paste objects on center of screen;

Eric

Good and bad news. I was finally able to export the drawing for printing. I performed actions as per your last reply and I'm still having no luck with the scale feature.

In the interest of time I have decided to start my drawing all over again. :D What are your recommended scale settings (and other settings) for a brand new drawing?
