DXF files with 5.203d

Post by debenriver »

Hi Eric

When I open a DXF file (DXF from ClarisCAD) with 5.203d, it opens OK but I get a crash message when I try to save it and I have to do a force quit

When I open the same file with v.4.91b3 it opens OK and I can save it no problem. Once I've done that I can quit 4.91 and go back to 5.20 and open the saved RealCADD file just fine - work with it – save it etc. no problem.

I tried this with several DXF files from the same source (i.e. DXF from ClarisCAD) and got the same crash as soon as I tried to save it.

I haven't tried the various versions between 4.91 and 5.20 so I don't know where the problem started to occur.

Cheers -- George

Eric – I just tried with 5.11 and it crashes. 5.00 is fine and makes a file that I can open in 5.20! George

Yes George, it is a problem with new dashed lines.
It is fixed now and I will upload a new beta version which solves this problem (I think).
And with the possibility to change the width of texts in the edit pallet.
And also with new R and D values for ellipses as Mike suggested.
Thanks.

Wow - that was quick :D

DXF works fine now. Thank you

R & D with ellipses are great.

Text still seems to go to one great big long line even if you set the width? Maybe I'm doing something stupid  ??

You must set the width when the text is no more edited.

Ah - so one can't stop it going in one great big long line off the screen while typing or editing?

It is probably possible.
How do you want that works?
By limiting the editfield at the width of the screen for example?
