Duplicate and mirror

Duplicate and Mirror: Symmetrical handrail

Is there an easy way to select the lines that I want, and flip them on the center axis (dotted line) while keeping the existing lines in place. I know I could duplicate, drag, mirror, and drag, but I would like a one step solution!

Bonjour Mike,

Yes, you can duplicate the objects, call "Action" -> "Symmetry with an axis" and then draw the axe of the symmetry.

Cordialement.

It still takes a "copy" first, so it's not really different from the mirror tool. I was hoping for a single operation. Thanks, though.

I don't know Mike - it is a lot quicker than select, copy, paste, group, mirror, align. You don't even have to group the components, just select them, hit ⌘D, select Symmetry with axis, then select the end points of the axis you want, and it's done!

The only extra move to an automatic duplicate is hitting ⌘D.

I mean the reverse is true – if it did automatically duplicate, then when you simply wanted to flip something about an axis, you would have to go back and delete the original  .
