Hi Eric
There seems to be an oddity with using the selection tool in the In/Cut mode. It seems to select text outside of the selection marquee. As in the image below, the In/Cut marquee has also selected the text circled in red.
I think it only happens with text, or grouped objects that contain text, though I haven't tested it overmuch. And by changing the shape/extent of the selection marquee you make it select more, or different, text items outside the marquee.
I don't know for sure if this is new to 4.90 – but I never noticed it happening on 4.80.
Cheers -- George

Re: Selection tool "in/cut"
Bonjour George,
It is a feature...!
Which works with groups, not only with texts.
To select a group with the selection tool "In", you have to enclose all the objects of the group.
If you enclose only one or more but not all, no object will be selected.
The objects of a group can't be selected separately.
With the selection tool "In/Cut", it is the opposite.
If you cut or enclose only one object of a group, all the group is selected.
Cordialement.

Re: Selection tool "in/cut"
Hi Eric
Here's another example. The "123" text object has been selected and the In/Cut marquee is clearly not cutting the text, nor is the text within the marquee.
And anyway, In/Cut doesn't normally work on text objects.
Cheers -- George
Yes – but this isn't what's happening. The groups in the red circle were completely outside the In/Cut selection marquee. They happened to be groups containing text, but it's the same with non-groups.With the selection tool "In/Cut", it is the opposite.

Re: Selection tool "in/cut"
It is no more a feature...but a bug
And it is also why the texts do not work with the selection tool "In/Cut".
I will fix it.
