Bonjour,
This beta includes the new tool which works on parallel lines and presented in the previous message.
This tool is on the line of cut and prolong lines tool.
It works by selecting parallel lines and end(s) of this lines if needed.
- With 2 parallel lines, you must select 1 or 2 or 3 or the 4 ends depending what you want,
- With 2 parallel lines and another non parallel, you must select 0 or 2 or 3 or the 4 ends depending what you want,
- With 2 pairs of parallel lines, you must select 0 or 2 (in the same pair) or 4 (2 in one pair and 2 in the other) ends depending what you want.
Here to download it for macOS.
Ask me if beta wanted for Windows.
Voilà !

Hi Eric
Works great!!
So we now have several ways to construct "walls".
1. The newish Wall tool with it's options, which works pretty well.
2. Setting the Static parallel tool and drawing parallel lines with the Line tool and the Option key held down. Then using this new tool.
3. Drawing a parallel line with the Dynamic parallel tool. Then using this new tool.
1. and 2. are the best/quickest. To use the new tool with walls created by the Wall tool, they have to be ungrouped – be kind of nice if they didn't!
Are we heading for a new combined function "wall" tool – or are you thinking to keep the two methods separate?
Cheers -- George

Bonjour,
A new version 5.80b2 is available for tests :
For macOS
For Windows
The new tool for parallel lines works now on grouped lines.
If you check "Invert Y-axis" in the preferences, the Y ruler is updated according this.
Before, only the datas in the Edit pallet was affected.
Thanks to Guy to report this.
Cordialement.

Pardon me… but I am new to this Forum stuff.
I am using RealCADD 5.71, do I need to update to RealCADD 5.80b1-b2 to be able to change the y-axis to the top?

Bonjour Guy,
The beta version is in a zip file, not an installer.
Therefore you can download it, and put it in another place than RealCADD 5.71 and use them two.
Cordialement.

It works nicely on groups.
I think a combined function wall tool would be great – neat and tidy!
If it could have a "repair" function that would also be useful – so you click in an "open" wall intersection and it closes it up again. Useful if you have a fairly complex wall situation and need to make some changes – like move or delete a wall and close the gaps left in another wall.

Hi Eric
Yeah – just like that!
When you are drawing a floorplan of a house for example you often want to move walls and repair the gaps left in adjacent wall(s). And in yacht design I would use walls for interior layouts, furniture construction detail etc. etc., to show material thicknesses and so on. It can save a lot of time fiddling about with parallel lines, cutting tool etc.
Cheers -- George

Bonjour,
The
macOS version 5.80b3 is available for test.
I think that the new tool is finished.
For the layers pallet, when you close it and reopen it with the menu "Windows" with the option key down, its position and, now, its size are reset.
Cordialement.
